Privacy Policy
Last updated September 24, 2026 (draft for review)
This privacy policy explains what information the Law Office of Ravi Patel ("we," "us," or "our") collects through ravilaw.com and our text messaging, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you request a free download (such as our sample Heggstad petition), we collect your name, your email address, and whether you asked to receive occasional updates. When you call, text, email, or book a consultation, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your name, phone number, email address, and a short description of your question. Consultations are booked through Calendly, which collects the details you enter on its booking page.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar tools to understand how visitors use the site. These tools, provided by Google (Google Analytics), collect information such as your browser and device type, the pages you visit, how you arrived at the site, and your approximate location. Some pages also show content from other companies, such as the Calendly booking calendar, a Google map, and our Google reviews (displayed through Elfsight); those companies may set their own cookies when the content loads.
How we use information
- To send you the download you requested and to respond to your calls, texts, emails, and consultation requests.
- To send occasional updates, but only if you checked the box asking for them. Every update email includes a way to unsubscribe.
- To understand how our website is used and to improve it.
- To comply with the law and our professional obligations as attorneys.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with companies that help us run our website and practice (for example, Cloudflare, which hosts this website and stores download requests; Google; Calendly; Elfsight; Microsoft, which provides our email; Dialpad, which provides our phone and text messaging; and Smith.ai, which answers our phone line), and only as needed for them to provide those services to us, or when the law requires it.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Other companies’ tracking
Google and the other companies named above may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use our site. You can learn how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
"Do Not Track" signals
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common standard for how websites should respond, our website does not currently respond to these signals.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from update emails at any time using the link in any update email or by writing to staff@ravilaw.com. To review, correct, or delete the name and email address you gave us, email staff@ravilaw.com and we will respond promptly. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Contacting us is not the same as hiring us
Visiting this website, downloading a sample, or contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship. Please do not send confidential information about a legal matter through this website or by email until we have agreed to represent you.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
How we protect and keep information
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we collect. We keep download requests for two years, or until you ask us to delete them if that is sooner, and we keep client information as our professional obligations require.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so at the top of the policy.
